How do you spend your Mondays?

Mondays usually suck. They're the beginning of the work week for Joe, and the end of eating out and having no responsibilities. We managed to make ours suck less by doing something different. After dinner we took a walk as a family. We usually don't do walks since we have nowhere to walk. Our apartment complex doesn't exactly make intriguing  scenery. Just sayin. It was so nice outside we couldn't resist. We plunked the baby in the stroller, got Keech hooked up in his harness, and poured some wine. What's an evening stroll without some wine :) It was nice to spend some time together as a family before our move this week. (More to come in that later)

Ready to roll

Impatient waiting on Daddy

Taking in the sights

Watching her Keech

Typical walking shoes.

Vino

Blowing rasberries

Oh the chunk

Tellin that paci who's boss

Best Friends

Charlotte and Keech are best friends. She loves that dog so much! She loses interest in anything she's doing when he comes in the room. She'll just stare at him until he comes over to her, and then she squeals and laughs like it's the best thing to ever happen to her. She'll randomly laugh, and I'll think I did something funny, and then I look at whatever she's looking at and realize she's laughing at him. He'll lay down on the floor next  to her, and she'll pull on and pet him and he just lays there. She'll grab his lips and tail and instead of getting mad, he diffuses the situation by licking her in the face which in turn makes her laugh even harder. I don't think it'll be long before she's crawling after him!

Oh hey Keech!

What are you doing? C'mon over here!

I can't quite reach you...

Soooo close...

Wait! Come back!

Success!

Baby Mozart

Charlotte loves her piano! She'll sit and play that thing forever. She bangs, pounds, taps, and chews on it like it's her business. She tries to grab the lights that flash, and if it stops playing before she's ready she pounds on it until she's satisfied with the musical selection. She cracks me up! I love that she can sit up now. Her play is so much more interesting for her. She can see things all around instead of just above her. I can't wait to see what other surprises she has in store for us!

Lounging before she begins her masterpiece

My little mermaid

Charlotte LOVES the water. I swear she was a fish in a past life. Saturday we went to the pool as a family and had a blast! She was so disappointed when we had to leave, but she quickly got over it when I put her right into the tub. Wednesday we're heading back to Callaway Gardens with all the girls and kiddos. There will be a post to follow that adventure :)  It should be fun. The kids will outnumber us 2 to 1, so I'm sure something crazy will happen.

Swimming is exhausting

About 2 seconds after this picture was taken, Charlotte knocked the can over and spilled beer ALL over her stroller. I managed to snatch her up right before she tried to drink it out of the tray.

She loves popsicles!

Memorial Day

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! We celebrated by spending the weekend outside. All the pools on post opened this weekend, so Amie and I took the babies and Nicolas on opening day. We had a great time, and my little fish of course had a blast. We were having so much fun, that neither one of us thought to take any pictures.

Later that day we had family pictures made. I can't even put into words how amazing they've turned out! We have a few preview pictures, but I'll do an entire post when we get the whole shoot.

On Saturday we took a family trip to Callaway Gardens. The closest beach to us is Panama City Beach, FL and unfortunately it's a 3 hour drive. Luckily for us, Callaway Gardens is run by a genius who created a man-made lake complete with sand. It's our own little beach here in landlocked Columbus. It was the baby's first trip to the "beach" and she did great! She was exhausted since she refused to nap all day. When we got home it took awhile for her to crash, but when she finally did, she slept all the way til 5.30! Normally she wakes up at least once between 9 and 5.30, but she was was zonked from the beach.

Sunday we went to church, and the spent the rest of the day at the Herrera's. Joe and Israel became great friends when they worked together (Joe was XO and Israel was a drill sergeant and then 1SGT). They have received orders, so they're moving to New York this week. We're so sad to see them go, but we're really excited about taking a trip to New York to see them in a few months.

Monday was spent at the pool, and then home watching a Band of Brothers marathon. If you haven't watched this series, you should check it out. It's a great tribute to a Battalion in WWII.

I hope everyone had a fun and enjoyable weekend. I hope you all took a moment to remember the real reason we celebrate Memorial Day.
